Untermyer Gardens is one of the most beautiful hidden gems in the New York area. The grounds are always stunning, but theyβre especially spectacular in September when everything is in full bloom and the gardens are filled with vibrant colors. Admission is completely free, although donations are accepted to help preserve this incredible placeβwhich is amazing considering how well maintained it is. Itβs the perfect destination to spend about two hours, whether you want to enjoy a peaceful stroll, take plenty of photos, or do a little of both. The breathtaking views of the Hudson River and the Palisades make the visit even more memorable. Thereβs also plenty of free parking, which makes getting there easy. The only reason Iβm giving four stars instead of five is that it can get fairly crowded on beautiful weekends, but itβs absolutely worth visiting and returning to throughout the year.

I was completely blown away by my visit to Untermyer Gardens. The grounds are amazingly beautiful, peaceful, and meticulously cared for. From the breathtaking Indo-Persian Walled Garden to the scenic views overlooking the Hudson, every corner is a photo opportunity. It is the perfect place for a relaxing walk, a date, or just to sit and enjoy nature. The fact that admission is free is incredible for a park of this caliber. Highly recommend visiting!

When I was trying to be straight (long story short: it didn't work out and now I'm gay married) my then wife and I were caretakers of a mansion in Yonkers. This was during the early days of the Internet so most things we did we learned about by word of mouth. Since most of our lives were in the City , we barely explored Yonkers. Plus we had a mansion and grounds to look after on the weekends. Somehow I never heard of Untermyer until this week, when I came to NY for business and had time to kill. I wanted pretty nature, and considered going to the NY Botanical Gardens, but that costs $35. That's a lot of dough for flowers. But then Google revealed Untermyer Gardens, with the promise of a Persian Gardens, terraces, and woods all for free. Parking? Free. It is gorgeous PLUS you get the vista of the Hudson River and the Palisades. Stunning views. The trees are massive and diverse. I mean look at the photos to get a glimpse of how nice it is. The parking lot was full but there was plenty of street parking for free. Happy Pride! ππ

Beautiful garden..perfect for family visit. It's very toddler friendly and old age friendly as the walking path is wide and flat. It has beautiful vistas and few remarkable places . A good place to do picnic and chill the whole day. It has free parking but spaces do fill up fast. No cafes on the premises. You can walk around, chill and take pictures. Don't miss the vista point!! It's the highlight of this garden.

This place is magnificent. The gardens are well kept and handicap accessible. The loop is pretty easy to walk with family or friends and if you just want to relax this is the perfect place. The parking is sort of small but there is parking on the street as well. There is no entrance fee but, if you can, please donate. Thanks to everyone who keeps this place in top shape.
